No one ever prepares you when there is a sudden death in the family.

The shock and numbness tend to lead to bad decisions. With the sudden loss of my mother-in-law, Suzie, who passed away in Sydney, my partner and I didn’t even know where to begin. We listened to the advice of others and their opinions on a quick and easy way to deal with her remains. We were very misguided, and ill-informed on the repercussions of this. 2 years of limbo and thinking she was coming back. Staring at a box every day and feeling the unrest, the guilt, and not able to properly grieve.

Macquarie Valley Funerals helped us in every way. They helped us heal properly and gave us what we needed. With professionalism and the right guidance, we were able to give mum a send off she deserved, and I’m truly thankful for everything they have done for myself and my family. We were able to grieve and finally acknowledge mum isn’t coming back. She now has a final resting place where friends and family can see her. We know now we should have sought professional advice, rather than going off friend’s opinions. Just because it’s simple and quick and easy, doesn’t always mean it’s right.

I highly recommend when you lose a loved one to always seek a local professional. Being able to have a Face-to-Face conversation with a funeral director and have the closure you all deserve will save yourself a long-term heart ache.

On behalf of our entire family we want to express our sincerest and heartfelt thanks to Sharon, Emily and all the team at Macquarie Valley Funerals. We live a distance away and when our much loved Aunt passed away suddenly, they were there supporting us every step of the way, with great love, care, and understanding. They made the entire process so easy for us, and the funeral service was perfect... exactly what Aunty Pat would have wanted. MVF listened to us and what we wanted, they were very professional at all times, great communication, and very affordable. The greatest of recommendations and thanks to you all... thank you for being there for us during this sad time!

I would personally like to thank Sharon, Laura, Emily, Damien, and the rest of the Macquarie Valley Funerals staff  for a professional, but gentle approach to which they carried out my beautiful Dad - Raymund’s funeral in Dunedoo on 13/3/2023. They were extremely genuine and caring throughout the week leading up to the funeral with nothing to be too much for them. They went above and beyond to give us & especially my Dad his last wishes & make it a reality for him. They gave us all the time we needed at the viewing without rushing anything, they were courteous & kind. They were empathetic to us, and will definitely be our “go to first” for any further family funerals. Thankyou Macquarie Valley Funerals for granting Dads wishes and being so beautiful towards us in a difficult time & our time of need.

I would like to thank everyone that supported my family yesterday with my fathers - Kenneth Harry Kerrigan's funeral. It was a lovely difficult time, Dad would have loved it - pomp and pageantry.  The professionalism, support and assistance you and your staff demonstrated was exceptional. You all went above and beyond to make sure everything went off without a hitch, and that the support was provided to my mother. The RSL tribute, I thanked the lovely gentlemen in person, but if you get a chance to drop them a note and thank them for me again, it will be appreciated. The morning tea was very well done, and the food was deliciously delectable. Thankyou again for everything.

Thank you so very much for the way in which the planning involved on the day was handled and the flawless execution. Jay’s wishes just got 110% focus and delivery from second I walked in the door to the moment we left the service. I felt valued and confident that things were in solid hands. To all the team, thank you. The changes to the day, catering, making room for Jay’s cousin to say goodbye, bundling up the flowers, all meant so much to myself and the family. Thank you a thousand times. The smallest details won and the day was perfect.

We can not find the words other than Thank you so very much for all your kind words, help and great support that you showed and gone to our nephew and cousin along with there family. You took Mark under your wing and guided him through a very dark time. You did a wonderful job of Mark’s younger brother’s funeral. It is everything Jas would have wanted. So loving and caring. Also Sharon, thank you for your help in helping our son and the boys cousin’s Nathan and Bradley. You made Bradley so pleased to be able to say his goodbye. We think you are one in a million. It certainly didn’t feel that way for us. Everyone involved showed kindness and empathy and we were completely confident that the service would be just as my grandmother wished it to be. Good afternoon Sharon,

We would like to personally thank you and your team for the compassionate and dignified way you coordinated all the arrangements for Dad’s funeral on the 23rd of December.  All aspects of the graveside and church services were faultless and your suggested inclusions made the events personal and moving.  We consider that you went above and beyond our expectations and we will remember the whole celebration of Dad’s life with pride. This is the first time that we have had to arrange a funeral for a family member so we are extremely grateful that you were able to gently and seamlessly steer us through the planning process. We appreciate that you could make all the arrangements prior to Christmas so there was a sense of closure before Christmas Day and New Year.

 Thank you very much for being a part of the celebration of Dad’s life.

On behalf of my family and myself, I would like to thank you and your team for making things so much easier through this difficult time. You were all very caring and supportive. The whole family and friends thought that Kali (celebrant) did an exemplary job on the day with the Service and did her home work on who Eric was and what his life was about. I don’t know it it is appropriate to say after a funeral that the celebrant really “Rocked It” on the day, but that is what the general consensus was. Special thanks also you your person in Coolah, Lisa, for quickly coming to see the family at the outset to discuss and guide us through this process.

I would like to thank Macquarie Valley Funerals for handling my lovely mother’s send-off in Dunedoo on Friday. Your staff all worked hard to make this very sad experience as pain-free as possible for me. Nothing I asked was too much trouble and your staff were always warm and accommodating. Our meeting with Stephanie and Jeanelle in Mudgee last Tuesday was excellent and I felt immediately comfortable in the surrounds of your sitting room, with both ladies attending to our needs.

 I would particularly like to commend Jeanelle and her team for their work in Dunedoo on Friday. They were exceptional in meeting requests without fuss and they were at all times very professional. Jeanelle is a one-in-a-million person who, I believe, exhibits all the great traits that are so important in her profession. She is warm, down-to-earth and compassionate.
